Paul “BJ” Ransbury is the CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) and a global leader in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT). With a background as a military fighter pilot, airline pilot, and Master Certified Flight Instructor, he has spent nearly three decades focused on reducing Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I)—aviation’s leading cause of fatal accidents.


BJ has played a key role in shaping modern UPRT standards, including contributions to ICAO guidance and industry best practices. His work centers on translating complex human-factors and flight-dynamics challenges into practical, executable training that prepares pilots to maintain control under stress, startle, and surprise.
